Ah, this is the burning question that everybody asks first. and the answer is, yes. Heat Pumps are extremely efficient, more so than conventional heaters by producing 3-4 times more heat by utilizing the same amount of electricity.

They are extremely reliable and are able to operate all year round because they use a clean, sustainable source of power which is constantly being replenished by the sun, unlike other fuels, and even better, they do not produce greenhouse gasses as there is no combustion involved!

Can a heat pump replace a boiler?
Can the Heat pump replace your gas or oil boiler ? In many cases, yes, a Heat pump can provide all the heating and hot water you need for your home, just the same as your old conventional boiler did.

Which is better heat pump or boiler?
Good question. For households that aren’t connected to mains gas, heat pumps can be a great alternative solution, certainly better than your old gas boiler, which do produce high CO₂ emissions.  Heat pumps run much more efficiently when combined with other systems like: underfloor heating or oversized radiators, which can produce sufficient warmth needed to heat your home.

Are heat pumps more expensive to run than gas boilers?
At the moment, electricity is much more expensive than LPG, oil and gas. This can mean that if your property is not insulated correctly, an Air source pump may not be cheaper. In spite of this, Heat Pumps run off electricity and they can provide around 25% heat and the rest comes from the air or ground pump. Therefore, makes them highly efficient.

 Are heat pumps noisy?
The answer is, yes. Heat pumps do make a buzzing noise because it is extracting heat from outside and has numerous components. Though, in reality it is a low to moderate noise compared to a dishwasher which is considered moderate.
